A P.S. to my last posting
I had mentioned that for the first time since I have begun teaching at the SS Studio in Port Moody a few years ago, a man signed up for one of my classes. I wondered how, or if the dynamics of my small, intimate classes would change, and I was pleasantly surprised. The gentleman who joined us for a viking weave class was of a "mature" age, and looked quite serious...until you got him talking! He brought a wicked humor to the class, and although the conversations went into some different directions than usual (politics and war instead of girl talk), it was a lot of fun, and he really enjoyed the class.
It never ceases to amaze me how different people can come together in a creative environment, and have so many things to talk about! In one of my classes my youngest student was a very mature 15, and the oldest was a very youthful 74, and yet the jokes were flying, there was a lot of laughter, and as always, the hours passed so quickly that it was a surprise when it was time to pack up.
What more can you ask for?
Cheers
