Lack of inspiration, lack of motivation. Somehow it’s easier to just sit and do nothing than to take myself into the workshop. I don’t know if it’s the weather, all the violence in our city lately, day to day stress...whatever it is, something has been messing with me. It’s hard to figure out if it’s just the blues, or if the dreaded day has finally come when the ability to create something from nothing has abandoned me.

As artists we joke about something like this happening, but as the weeks go by and I still have no desire to sketch, or paint, or fire up the torch, my sense of humor about the whole thing is wearing thin. I can only hope that this cloud lifts soon, and I can go back to wreaking havoch in the workshop, instead of wearing a groove in the couch.

Here’s to a shadow, or not, whichever means there is an end in sight to this long, cold winter. I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m ready for it to be over!
